My First Chanel Bag: Classic Flap (Medium/Large)

This a well delayed post since it was purchased back in July. This bag was not purchased on a whim. It took several weeks of researching and a couple of visits to the Chanel boutique before I made the final decision that I want this bag. This was one of my "before I'm 30" goal. But Dan was such a sweetheart and got it for me because of the crazy price increases. It has almost doubled in price in the last few years so I can't even imagine how much it would be in the year 2020 when I have finally saved for it. I know I am so spoiled but I am very grateful.

I chose this bag based on one thought. If I could ever own one Chanel bag which would it be? I was contemplating between the different sizes (mainly the Medium/Large and the Jumbo), the different leathers and the hardware. My final decision was the Black Caviar, Medium/Large with the Gold Hardware. It was purchased at the Chanel Boutique on Castlereagh St, Sydney. This has sentimental value as the old boutique may be closing down due to the opening of the new boutique in the new Westfields Shopping Centre. Personally, I like the overall feel of the old boutique which is why this bag would mean so much more to me. After all my first Chanel item was purchased there (classic CC stud earrings).

I didn't take these photos until recently so all the pretty packaging (bag and ribbon) are not included since I unpackaged it at Dan's house and he has really poor yellow lighting in his room.

I've been loving this bag so much and so glad that I got it. I know the price is shocking but its classic, timeless and the quality would mean this bag could be passed down to the next generation and be loved and cherished.

Louis Vuitton: Monogram Vernis Poch-Clef

Danny and I ended up exchanging our Anniversary presents early, once again (its actually in August). We went to the Louis Vuitton shop supposedly "just to look" but he surprised me and got me the poch-clef to add to my Monogram Vernis family/collection. I already own the zippy wallet and the Brea MM in the same colour, Amarante.

It was the last piece in the store and he didn't want to wait so we got it. He knew I wanted one because I'm saving up for a Chanel Classic Flap in medium/large and my wallet would take up most of the limited space inside it. I would've got a smaller wallet but it didn't make sense as I have a fully functional wallet and I love it to death. It fits everything you could possibly need in your wallet without any bulging.. The poch-clef is the perfect size to use with any of my smaller bags as it holds my essentials. It can fit my driver's license, student ID, bank card, credit cards, notes and small change. The key holder/hook doubles as a hook to attach to the inside of any Louis Vuitton (attach to the D-hook).

Onto photos ...

Take me away ...

I love Australia and love being Australian. But there's one thing that really sucks about living here. Everything is so expensive! I mean we pay such high taxes/mark-ups on the things that I love. That's if you can find it here down under. Clothes, shoes and the biggest killers? Designer handbags and cosmetics. I want to go overseas so bad! But knowing me, I would probably try to bring everything home and exceed my luggage limit ... ahem and the luggage of those who are unfortunate enough to be with me.

Okay, I'm dreaming. I don't have even the funds at this point in time to even go on a holiday, not to mention buying anything and everything that catches my eye. This is why I am going start a new wishlist called "things I'd buy overseas-TIBO" and hope that it's going to motivate me to save more.

Too kick things off, the first thing on my list ... A Balenciaga bag ! I really like the "First".. I don't have many mid-sized bags and I think this would be really versatile. A throw on with any outfit and go.. It's listed on the US site for $1,245US. Expensive I know, but no where near as what some forums say you can get it for in Australia. I think someone on Vogue said it was about $2,000AU here. Big difference.

I think a holiday to the US could easily cost me $20,000 or more. Sighs ... Time to start saving ...

Bringing my baby home ..

Finally my baby Louis has come home with me .. It's the Louis Vuitton Monogram Vernis Brea MM in Amarante <3 .. It was a tough day's shopping, especially for the boy .. Thanks baby, I love you xx ...

And I got my Chanel earrings that were a gift from the boy replaced because some of the crystals have fallen out. I was so upset because I took proper care of them, but after reading some forums I soon realised that is was a common problem with the classic Chanel cc studs. I'm very pleased with Chanel for replacing them, no questions asked. It was good to learn that they will either repair them or replace them if they have a pair on hand. You definitely get what you pay for .. That is service!

Here's a proper photo of the bag from the LV website. I couldn't get a quality photo with my iPhone :(

Check out my matching zippy wallet here.

"It's so FLUFFFYYY !!"

Finally... I have survived through the long wait for the arrival of two items on my wishlist. It was a very long 2-4 weeks wait for both. Sitting by my phone, anticipating every call, just to get that call that tells me "... it has arrived". Okay, I may be exaggerating but it was a long wait...

House of Harlow 1960: Black Leather Sunburst Double Pendant Necklace - Thanks to my awesome bf =)

Longchamp: Planetes Tote in Black - Thanks to me haha

Crossed off! I can finally and officially cross them off my ever-growing wishlist... I am most definitely a happy girl !

Not related but still exciting news is that my company has today officially signed Lady Gaga for her debut fragrance ! It won't be out until at least a year from now, but can you imagine how out of this world it will be?! oh so GAGA!

I'm also really excited about the new Chloe fragrance "Love, Chloe"  launching next week. It's already out on counters in selected stores that carry the Chloe house fragrances, so come in and have a sniff .. It's a stunning high quality bottle. Made of the finest glass with latest technology for an almost invisible atomiser. Features a fine rose gold chain that connects the cap to the bottle and carries a sophisticated powdery floral scent ... I'm in LOVE !

Key notes:
Heliotrope, Iris Absolute and Rice Powder
Also, had a massive haul at the SK-II counter yesterday. Broke. I cannot wait until pay day on Wednesday ! I will post up my purchases soon.

So .. How are you liking my new camera? =)

Bags Bags Bags

Just placed an order in at the Longchamp store in QVB for the Planetes Tote in Black $199.00AUS for the large size with long handles. Can't wait until it comes in .. about 1-2 weeks !

I've always wanted a Le Pliage, but couldn't really decide what colour to get .. Purple, Navy, Black, Ivory ... so many colours ! Too many ! Been trying to decide for the past 6 months or more now but I have finally set my heart on black. Conventional and practical... But the Planetes is definitely a little less common since its a different material, slightly thicker and also features black leather handles and flap, rather than the typical tan/brown.

It's definitely a phonecall I don't want to miss !

Also, still waiting on the House of Harlow necklace.

The difficult life of a shopping obsessed addict .. always broke !

It's a new and expensive obsession .. BAGS !!!
